BASIC USE:
Nelson CPS is a rigid elastromeric fire resistive panel used to seal
penetrations and restore the fire rating to floor/ceilings or walls
in which an opening has been made for the passage of penetrating items.
The material forms a refractory char that retards heat transmission
and tightly seals penetrations against flame spread, smoke and toxic
fumes.
Nelson CPS is a rigid panel primarily composed of a .300" thick elastomeric
sheet bonded to a 28 gauge galvanized steel sheet on one side. The composite
sheet is reinforced with hexagonal shaped steel wire mesh and bonded
with .003" aluminum foil on the other side.
UL 1479, Firestops, Fire Tests of Through-Penetration Firestops. ASTM

(National Building Code, Uniform Building Code, Standard Building Code),
as well as the National Electrical Code, the Life Safety Code, and most
